BIETIGHEIM-BISSINGEN, Germany: Every year, a jury of renowned experts bestows the German Design Award on innovative projects and products. The process of selecting innovative products focuses not only on great design but also on effective function, safety and sustainability. This year, the Tyscor VS 4 suction unit from Dürr Dental convinced the international jury of its excellence and won the German Design Award 2021.

A powerful suction unit is an indispensable tool in any dental practice. Owing to its ability to extract the spray mist generated during procedures, it plays a major role in infection control, thanks to a suction volume of approximately 300 l/min.

The Tyscor VS 4 not only sets new standards in performance and efficiency, but also offers the advantage of energy savings of up to 50%. In addition, its two suction stages ensure that this premium suction unit is exceptionally safe and reliable to operate. The sound-absorbing housing and smooth-running engineering make Tyscor systems the quietest in their class.

The German Design Award is awarded by the German Design Council. Founded in 1953 by the German Parliament, the not-for-profit body seeks to promote design in a way that enhances the value of brands. This has established the German Design Council as one of the world’s leading authorities on communication and market launches in the design sector.

Martin Dürrstein, CEO of DÜRR DENTAL, expressed his delight at winning the award: “Our high-performance suction units enjoy universal recognition and popularity among dental experts. Using our suction units cuts down on aerosol formation, significantly reducing the risk of infection for both the practice team and the patient. Through the Tyscor VS 4, we have set new standards in technology and aesthetics. We are delighted that the German Design Council, as an independent body, has recognised this and chosen to honour our work with the German Design Award.”
