Why do we photograph in dentistry? To document and follow up our work, to record our progress through the years, to discuss a treatment with the patient or with our colleague. whatever the reason, be it for clinical or for academic purposes, dental photography seems to require the eye of the dentist and the technical expertise of the photographer.
Dr. Simona Giani is a renowned Italian lecturer often praised for the natural beauty of her photographic documentations. Yet she uses no additional lights, no bounce, no photo editing. She doesn’t make things unnecessarily complicated, but she does have a few good tricks.
From x-ray to extra-oral and intra-oral photography, Dr. Giani goes through every step illustrating the tools, the camera settings, the position of the photographer and the team, sharing the secrets behind her outstanding case reports. Her message throughout the lecture is “Keep it simple and, above all, keep it real!”
